About

GI Guidelines is a point-of-care decision-support app in the spirit of the ASCCP management app, built for gastroenterology. It turns consensus guideline tables into a guided, auditable workflow: you enter the findings, the rules engine fires every applicable statement, and the shortest interval governs.

  • US Multi-Society Task Force on Colorectal Cancer — follow-up after colonoscopy and polypectomy (2020).
  • ACG Clinical Guideline — diagnosis and management of adenomatous colorectal polyposis syndromes (2026).
  • Spigelman staging of duodenal polyposis, with ASGE 2020 stage-based intervals.

How the engine works

Each guideline is a small Python module with a declarative form schema and an evaluate() function. Statements carry their GRADE strength and evidence quality, and every result lists the governing statement plus all other statements that applied — so a clinician can see the reasoning, not just the answer. The engine is unit-tested against the published tables and versioned with the app.

Privacy

The forms never ask for names, dates of birth or record numbers. Anonymous inputs and outputs may be logged to improve the tool; nothing identifiable is stored. Shareable links encode only the answers you entered.

Not a substitute for clinical judgment. Confirm against the full guideline text, which supersedes this summary.
